Panther's Closet is OPEN!

At times we all need a little help from our friends.......Norton's Panther Closet has clothes, shoes, coats and school supplies available for free.  Please contact our Counseling Department at 330-825-5607 and ask for either Mrs. McDonald or Dr. Russo and they will assist you.  

Panther Time

 During the first two weeks of school all students have been particpating in team building activities.  These activities support our focus this year, We Roar. Together.  Please check out the pictures from the events.  

National Junior Honor Society now accepting applications!

 National Junior Honor Society recognizes students who display scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Every year, Norton Middle School faculty selects eighth grade students to become members of this society. In order to qualify, students must have obtained a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their 7th grade year and completed at least 10 community service hours during their middle school years. Students must also show record of excellent character throughout middle school and have held a leadership role in some capacity.  Applications may be dropped off to Mr. Leimeister.  Applications will be accepted through September 10.  No late applications will be accepted. 

SIP Club to begin September 5, 2019

Thursday, September 5 will be the first meeting of our SIP Club.  The SIP Club promotes social interaction among peers without the use of technology.  Students play cards, board games and participate in outdoor fun!  The club is open to students of all grade-levels and is sponsored by staff member, Mrs. Arnold.  Students may attend any Thursday without prior arrangements, students will gather in the cafeteria at the dismissal bell.  Pick-up time is 3:30PM.  If you have any questions, you may contact Mrs. Arnold at

Youth Fellowship Group called IMPACT CLUB begins Tuesday, 9/10.

 Each Tuesday a youth fellowship club will begin meeting in the Panther Room.  This is a student led group with the Student Leadership Team also meeting once a week.  The objective of the group is to connect with each other through fun activities creating a positive IMPACT in the middle school.  Students wanting to attend will report to the Panther Room at the dismissal bell.  A student does not have to commit to every Tuesday, but can attend as their schedule allows.  Parents please arrange pick-up at 3:30PM.  

Chess Club & Academic Challenge Club - COMING SOON

Two additional clubs that will return to the Middle School will be our Chess Club and our Academic Challenge Club.  Information on meeting dates, times and locations will be published soon.                                                                                                                                       

Drop-in for Donuts

Please join us for donuts and conversation focused on improving the middle school.  Each quarter the administration, counseling department and available teaching staff will join parents for coffee and donuts.  It is a informal opportunity to share ideas and suggestions for improvement.  Please feel free to bring younger children.  We will meet in the Panther Room from 8:00AM - 8:45AM.  Our kick-off meeting is Thursday, September 19.  Other dates are as follows:  November 19, February 19 and May 19.  Please join us!

Picture RETAKE Day!

Students will have their school pictures retaken on Friday, September 27.  New picture envelopes will go out prior to retake day.
