A Little Bit About Me
Personal: I am a wife and a mother of two, living in Brimfield. My husband, Jeff, is a business analyst for Huntington Bank. My daughter Gabrielle is ten and my son, Jackson, is eight. Gabby loves to dance and play softball and basketball and Jackson loves to play basketball, baseball and soccer. They attend Suffield Elementary and are learning how to be good leaders. We love to play outside, take walks to the park, and visit our family. I am originally from Brookfield, Ohio (near Sharon, PA) so it is about an hour away to visit grandparents, aunts, uncles, and our 10 nieces and nephews. My husband's family is much closer- so we enjoy spending time in the Norton/Barberton area visiting grandparents, aunts, uncles, and another 8 neices and nephews. Some of my personal favorite things to do include cooking- I love to try new recipes and listening to music.
Professional:I graduated from Brookfield HS in 1996. Then, I attended The University of Akron, graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Education- Elementary Ed. 1-8. I tutored for a short time at Woodford Elementary School in Barberton, before getting hired at Norton Middle School. This is my seventeeth year teaching science at NMS- I have taught both sixth and seventh grade here, and have added a fifth grade science class this year. I attended graduate school at Marygrove College, and obtained my Master's degree in 2004. I stay current on issues in education by attending workshops and conferences.
