Norton City Schools Board of Education Names New Superintendent

Bryan Farson Slated to Begin August 1, 2022

(May 13, 2022) – The Norton Board of Education unanimously agreed to offer Bryan Farson the position to serve as the district’s New Superintendent at a special meeting on May 11, 2022.  Farson is currently the Principal at AI Root Middle School, in the Medina school system.

“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to work with Norton Board of Education, staff, parents, students, and community.  Throughout the entire process, it was evident the passion that everyone involved has for this school district.  My goal is to focus on “Every Child, Every Day” and continue to make this community proud of this school district.  I look forward to getting started and Go Panthers!!!”

In addition to being the Middle School Principal, Farson has also served as the High School Principal in Medina and has been a staple in that district for 16 years. Prior to Farson’s tenure in Medina he served as Assistant Principal at North Olmsted City Schools and spent 6 years in the classroom as a teacher in the Independence school district.  Bryan started his educational career at Maple Heights as a teacher in 1998.

Farson earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Kent State University. His Master’s Degree was earned from John Carroll University and Superintendent Licensure from Ashland University.

Farson was selected after a detailed interview process facilitated by the search firm, Summit ESC.  This week, the final three candidates were interviewed by administrators, teachers, classified staff, and community members. Immediately after on the same night the candidates met individually with the Board of Education for a final interview.

The Board is extremely grateful to all who took the time to be part of this exciting process and provide feedback on the final candidates. It was extremely important to us those stakeholders had the opportunity to be part of the process.”  Mr. Farson brings a long accomplished educational career with many marked successes to Norton, which is why we believe he is the right candidate to carry out our district's vision and mission for many years to come.

Mr. Farson is currently set to begin his new position on August 1, 2022.  He will have several transition days in Norton prior to the mentioned start date.
