6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Technology

Technology class is a hands-on computer applications course taught in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. During the grading period students will learn a variety of skills involving: keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, digital photography, internet research, internet safety, computer coding, and more. In 7th & 8th grade, the lessons build on the information learned during the previous year. My main goal is to equip students with the knowledge to proficiently use many common computer applications they will encounter in high school, college, and many career fields.

Open Lab is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:20-3:00 to all middle school students. It is for anyone that needs to use a computer to complete an assignment for any class. Students must have work to do to stay for Open Lab.

About me: I have been a teacher at Norton Middle School since 2006. I was a seventh grade Math and Social Studies teacher before I started teaching Technology classes in 2012. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Level Education from the University of Akron in 2005. Then I received my Master's Degree in Technology Integration from Nova Southeastern University in 2009 through an online program.
I live in Barberton with my wife and daughter. We are a diehard Disney family and we love vacationing at the Disney Parks. I root for all of the northeastern Ohio sports teams (yes, even the Browns) and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Although I have zero musical talent, I also enjoy listening to all kinds of music. I mainly listen to rock music, but I listen to many other genres too. Some of my favorites are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Brad Paisley, Johnny Cash, and Dean Martin.
